There is the possibility that we’ve hit serious Infographics fatigue. Visme.co would contend that we’ve hit BAD infographics fatigue, and that’s probably true. Part of the problem lies in following the trend where many infographics ignored some basics of good storytelling. While some visuals can be quite compelling, it takes more than a strong visual to make an infographic stick or go viral. This infographic relies almost exclusively on design and organization of materials without considering the content’s ability to draw and hold interest, or if it’s factual or sensationalist (fake news can be spread through infographics quite easily, as seen by many single-image memes that were virally deployed across many popular social media platforms. The ethics of what goes into the infographic and its use are not under consideration here.
