About this Workshop

This session is an introduction to facilitating LEGO SERIOUS PLAY methods and materials for forming, developing and norming teams, followed by a simple team activity for group design and decision-making using design-thinking and/or LEAN visual templates. It will be completely participatory: every attendee will be using LEGO bricks to build 3-dimensional embodied metaphors and then tell the stories of the models they build. In this workshop run by Dean Meyers, certified facilitator in LEGO SERIOUS PLAY methods and materials,  you will experience first-hand how this method is both fun and can have great impact.

Even if you’ve never touched a LEGO® brick before, you will gain an understanding of the core process of LEGO Serious Play, where every participant contributes and is heard.

This session is perfect for leaders, managers, facilitators, consultants and practitioners who work with or support cross-functional teams. The methodology can be used to fast-track team communication and shared goals, and/or align and synchronize teams who are going through a transformation or change in personnel. In this session, we’ll begin with basic skills using LEGO SERIOUS PLAY methods and materials and then model early team formation, establishment of core values, co-create simple guiding principles, team identity, and practice team-building and running a group activity through Serious Play.

Each participant will receive a personal LEGO SERIOUS PLAY 49-piece Explorer kit for their own use.
