2624299_HTCviveConsumer electronics giant HTC and sports nutrition leader Quest Nutrition are teaming up to produce a special event for virtual reality enthusiasts. The Mind & Body VR Hack-A-Thon, taking place July 22 through July 24, 2016, will give coders, game developers, and designers 48 hours to create a virtual reality experience that can help people live better. Competing teams have the opportunity to win the grand prize featuring an HTC Vive for each member, Quest Nutrition products, a Vive-Optimized computer system for each member, and a VIRZoom VR Bike.

This multi-day event will bring together VR experts from across Southern California to dream up new possibilities for virtual reality. “Immersive virtual reality experiences have the potential to solve some of society’s most pressing health issues,” said Nick Robinson, Quest Nutrition Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re excited to see how technology, mind, and body, can converge to create something transformative.”

The unique collaboration between HTC and Quest Nutrition stemmed from the companies shared interests in bettering the lives of customers through health and wellness, along with advancements in interactive education. “ We’re very excited to work with Quest Nutrition on The Mind and Body VR Hack-A-Thon. Encouraging developers to apply their skills to non-traditional categories, such as health and fitness, will enable audiences to experience virtual reality in ways that impact their daily lives.” said Jad Boniface, HTC Director of Developer Relations & Partnerships.
