Filmmaking will change… or has changed, or is changing. It’s not open to debate, it’s more a question of what kind of filmmaking we are interested in, as visual storytelling using technology comes in a wider variety of flavors. Whereas were talking about  transmedia extensively for the past few years, which was about multiple platforms and complex enviroments, worlds and universes, this seems to be getting less play in the last year. As we wait for the Oculus VR products to be on everyone’s Christmas wish list (maybe for 2016?), and we still dream about Holodecks, here are some ideas on what is going to come on one specific format, Virtual Reality,  from someone in the business.

Aside from technology, however, my big takeaway is aligned with the old story about telling a good story: attention to the details of a story well crafted will be what really defines success in this medium.

And, considering markets ready for the leap, It probably will be the gamers who benefit first and foremost from any and all advancements in VR.
