A new beta version of freehand drawing package “Rhonda” is available.  If you’ve never heard of Rhonda, you’re not alone as neither had I.  If you watch the demonstration video at their site, you’ll quickly see it’s a freehand drawing app that functions in 3D by allowing you to draw in a 2D plane that can be oriented on the fly via the keyboard (or a Trackball in the video).  The video shows a rather exotic Cintiq & Trackball configuration, while the software actually runs just fine with a Keyboard and Mouse.

It’s somewhat similar to ZBrush, but rather than working on surfaces or polys, it works on just freehand lines.  The resulting wireframe-style models can be saved or exported to DXF files for import into other programs.  The software has already seen in several conferences, museum showings, and art galleries, and is now available for beta download.
