Floating Sheep has taken user generated Google placemarks for rich and poor. Overall if you take a look at the map, then the world looks to be pretty empty. Of course that makes sense when you consider that much of the world lives on less than $1 a day and does not have Internet access. For the map to be more useful, you need to look at specific areas where Internet Access such as North America, Europe, and the Far East.
