PDNPulse points out that the latest issue of TIME Magazine, proclaiming “The Decade From Hell”, was shot by Finlay MacKay with a RED One Camera. The video version of the footage is available on Time.com, but they’re claiming that this is the first Magazine in the US to use a RED camera still on it’s cover. I guess nobody told them about the Esquire cover featuring the lovely Kate Beckinsale, some of the others. PDN Gets into the details:
Earlier this year, [Greg] Williams used a RED One for Esquire’s April 2009 cover shoot, though the photo of Megan Fox used on the cover was actually shot with a Canon, Williams tell us. (The U.K. edition of Esquire went with a RED shot on their cover.)
What about W‘s July 2009 cover of Bruce Willis and Emma Heming shot by Steven Klein? That shoot was done with a Red One, but not the cover, according to posts on RedUser.net.
What about Outside‘s October 2009 cover featuring a still from a video by Alexx Henry? Henry tells us that while he used a RED on that shoot, the cover was shot with a Canon 5D Mark II.

couldnt agree more. very weird…
Watching the “making of” this cover story was horrifying. These poor children were put in a strange environment, scared to death, then filmed while screaming for their mothers. One kid is left to scream for so long that he starts hyperventilating, all while geeks with dark frames stand around awing about their fancy cameras. Why doesn’t anyone else see this for the disturbing mess that it is? Shame on you Vizworld for jumping on this stupid bandwagon. How about exploring the mistreatment of Children for the benefit of entertainment?
