Some useful tips : when you are making something, download as much reference you can of a curent thing (robots mechanics and stuff like that) and if you’re making robots try to think how the joints should be and how they should be animated. You want to make something that’s full of life, not a few metal bolts here and there and to have a Robot.
Try to download a few human anatomy pictures or try to understand how the human body works, that will help you with your robot designs.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the Trabant version of the Autobot and Decepticon. It’s not like Michael Bay will look the robots and say “O I WANT THOSE IN THE NEXT movie for the TRANSFORMERS”, but I’m sure that you’ve had fun seeing an Old German Car becoming a robot 🙂
By the way, in my City (Ruse / Bulgaria) that kind of a car is something cute and it’s quite old and the blue and the gray color of the Trabant are really popular. That’s why I tried to mix them up with the idea. The good one is the blue, and the evil one is the gray one. They are like the twins from the movie but the little one (the decepticon) is born from the DARK SIDE 😀 so they fight a little bit. It’s good to think up some background for your characters, it gives them more personality while you’re modeling them.
