I used only basic modeling skills for the making of the robots, no special plugins.  The modeling of the robots was done in 3D Studio MAX 2009. I used simple box objects to rig the character, so I’m dealing with box geometry instead of dealing with several milion polygons in the viewport.  The rendering went to HyperShot, it’s awesome software.

Today anyone in the 3D Forums can make a robot, I know, but if you want to be spotted or to make the others smile you have to think outside of the box and try to do something the others will not.  How many Trabant robots you have seen for example? 😀

Gnomon released a really cool DVD about Robot Concepts and thanks to them, probably, I’m using Hypershot now then rendering and setting up lights and stuff in max.
