Hitachi has announced some new LCD and Plasma TV’s today. Of particular note is the face that several models have integrated 250GB Hard Drives and ethernet connections, making them integrated digital TV recorders and media viewers. They also boast special “energy sipping” technology to reduce power consumption on the Plasma’s (typically huge energy hogs), and a 40000:1 contrast ratio.

The first announcement is for the Wooo UT800 series LCD’s, which are all 120Hz display, ranging from 32″ to 47″. All 4 units have a 250Gb hard drive and Ethernet connectivity, and are a meager 3.9 inches thick. These units are estimated to be available in October.

The second announcement is for the Wooo 03 to be released in April and May. It’s 3 LCD TV’s and 4 Plasma TV’s, most of which are 1080P (one model of LCD and Plasma are 720p). Like the previous, each unit comes with an integrated 250GB HDD and ethernet connectivity.
