FUTURE of STORYTELLING ANNOUNCES OPEN SUBMISSIONS TO THE FOURTH-ANNUAL FoST PRIZE JURY AWARD AND SECOND-ANNUAL PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD

Future of StoryTelling (FoST) has announced open submissions for the fourth-annual FoST Prize Jury Award and the second-annual FoST Prize People’s Choice Award. The FoST Prize invites the world’s most innovative and adventurous digital story creators to submit their interactive work, which may include, but is not limited to, web-based films, data-driven art, mobile apps, narrative games, multimedia installations, virtual, augmented and mixed reality experiences, and other multi-platform projects. A $5,000.00 cash-prize will be awarded to both the Jury Award and People’s Choice Award winners.

 

Submissions for the FoST Prize will be judged based on the following criteria:

  1. Quality of user experience
  2. Story-Driven Content: Communicates a clear narrative
  3. Emotional Resonance: Strikes a powerful chord with the user
  4. Design Execution: Innovative, original, and beautifully crafted

ABOUT THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD

The FoST curatorial team will choose the 20 of the best submitted projects, which will be released to the public for voting on the FoST website (futureofstorytelling.org). People can also view them in person at the FoST Festival, which will take place October 6th–9th  2017 in New York. The project that receives the most votes will be announced on the last day of the Festival and receive a $5,000 cash prize.

ABOUT THE JURY AWARD

Out of the 20 projects selected for the People’s Choice Award, three finalists will be chosen by an esteemed panel of judges. This year’s judges include Resh Sidhu, Creative Director at Framestore VR; Julia Kaganskiy, Director, NEW INC at New Museum; and Steve Clayton, Chief Storyteller at Microsoft. The three finalists will be invited to attend the FoST Summit (October 4th and 5th 2017 in New York), where the winner will be announced from the main stage and receive a $5,000 cash prize.
