Studying online through a MOOCPTC Academic Program has released a series of online courses available worldwide through Udemy, the well-know provider of MOOCs. These courses focus on general product development and business strategies associated with the IoT and include presentations, demos and use cases. Participants who utilize these courses will gain specific IoT knowledge that will enable them to extend current education, freshen job skills and prepare for a new career in today’s IoT world.

A massive open online course (MOOC) is a model that seeks to deliver learning content online to any person who wants to take a course, with no limit on attendance or location. According to data collected by Class Central, more than 35 million students have registered for at least one MOOC —up from an estimated 17 million in 2014, with more courses being offered to cover in-demand skills across technology and business fields.

“Education is changing. Often people want to consume information that’s micro-targeted at their very specific interest, and they want to have access to that information whenever they want, wherever they want, and using whatever device of their choosing,” said Jordan Cox, senior vice president, academic program, PTC. “In addition, various customers tell us they depend on a workforce that’s trained on new product development technology. PTC developed the IoT series of MOOCs aiming to offer a different kind of educational pathway to address these challenges. Early registration numbers have far exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to launching more MOOCs in the near future.”
