Nice Shoes has just completed a massive upgrade to push everything in the always-popular RED format, and found themselves at a quandary:  Most RED workflows require converting the RED files into DPX, ‘baking’ the colors into the files and making it difficult to change later.  To answer this, Nice Shoes developed their own conversion suite that allows colorists and editors to work directly from the raw RED footage, saving all of the color detail until the final “export” step.

“Our experience and tools now allow us to create customized workflows to accommodate any clients needs or work style which is especially important when working across the post spectrum as Nice Shoes does ” stated Chris Ryan. “The client has the advantage of knowing that one centralized company is accountable for the final look rather than the traditional mess of having post work spread between conversion house telecine company and visual effects shop.”
