The New York Times has taken some of the closer finishes in the 2010 Winter Olympics and plotted them temporally as seconds behind the Gold Medal Finisher, showing that many of the events are decided by less than a quarter of a second.  Then, to further drive home just how slim some of the winnings are, they’ve attached sonic feedback to them so that you can ‘hear’ the exact differences.
