LegitReviews has a short piece on Nvidia showing off a GeForce GF100 video card at CES. At SC09, NVidia showed a Fermi class card running the N-body simulation that was 6.2 times faster than a Tesla C1060. That however, was a CUDA simulation, not a gaming benchmark. This year at CES, NVidia is showing a Fermi class card running a DirectX 11 benchmark. From the article:
Performance numbers are hard to come by on the GeForce GF100, but we overheard someone saying that it is around 36% faster than ATI’s Radeon HD 5870. When asked to confirm the number, NVIDIA could not comment. We also heard a rumored launch date of March 2nd, 2010 from various people at the show, so it looks like the graphics card is close to coming out.
I would have thought that the GF100 would be released in conjuction with the Game Developers Conference which runs March 9-13 in San Francisco, CA. We will just have to wait and see.
